Heroes of the Pacific - Raid On Taivu by Mark Selleck So my first scenario with HotP so what better place to start than the first scenario in the book. This a pretty straight forward one with just infantry though some arty and air support though a good one to get back into the swing of things. This one is about a raiding mission that the Marines conducted during the Guadalcanal campaign to collect Japanese supplies and intel. So for victory the Marines need to have...

I'll post an AAR here on an encounter between similar sized infantry units. Still learning to get screen shots attached and embedded, so bare with me. Local West Germans have reported that there is an armored vehicle near the middle of town but it seems to be 'broken'. A US patrol is sent to investigate. A Soviet patrol is sent to provide security. NOTE: All graphics shown in this AAR are playtest graphics and not production...
This is a customer review of Tank On Tank: West Front post on Board Game Geek (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1436992/wargame-rest-us-or-why-does-game-remind-me-blood-b_) by Scott M. and is reposted here with his approval. Introduction Alright, confession time: I am not a Grognard. Not that I have anything against Grognards, and in certain ways I kinda wish I did have that level of focus & dedication to "proper" wargames. But,...

Guys A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to get my brother to play WaW with me and the one thing he disliked about the game was the chit pull system. I confess that I'm not too fond of it either - not because of the randomness but because it forces us to look away when trying to pull them out of the cup. So I came up with a different system - different, but mostly the same. I went into photoshop and produced a set of cards for the 1st ed Eisenbach Gap just to try it out. The idea is that...

by Eric M. Walters Reposted from Board Game Geek and shortened. There are a lot of games on the 1942 Gazala battles in North Africa--more to the point, there's quite a number of comparable size and scale titles in print at the time of this writing, to include Decision Games' folio game, Cauldron: Battle for...

Command Ops 2 Build 5.0.18 is now available for download. Changes * Removed handling for receiving and generating reports from ToolPalette:SubjectUpdated(). This fixes crash on Quit. * Added destructor function to RouteAversionMap in an attempt to clobber the memory leak. This alone...
This article written by Peter Bogdasarian on the Vietnamese Armies. This is a great read for any Lock 'n Load Tactical fan. Nam-VC1.jpg The Marines who fought at Dai Do in 1968 later described their opponents as the “Palace Guard”for their new weapons and uniforms. Compared to the Viet Cong, the NVA certainly feel that way – they have better equipment, organization and firepower and are, in some ways, even more heavily armed than their American opponents. Still,...
Hello Everyone, We have just made available Command Ops2 Build 5.0.17. Please find the changes listed below. Changes: * Ensure ScenTransportEvent-DetermineLosses() can handle cases where the startLoc and currLoc are the same. This fixes CTD that occured rarely when the recipient retreats back to its base. * Mods to FGMsgLogDialog to ensure onMapMessages are hidden when the dialog opens and shown when the dialog closes. In essence player reports are either shown onMap or, if it's...
The title says it all. This is a sample map of the new World At War - The Untold Stories map. Please look it over and let us know what you think. David
In late July of 1985, two months before the dramatic events depicted in America Conquered, a brief but bloody and consequential war was fought: The Texan War of Independence. It marked the first time in 120 years, since the Civil War, that Americans took up arms against each other. The circumstances were desperate. The United States had been struck by nuclear weapons. Many cities—Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles and others—had been annihilated, but...

Hi all, I have just uploaded the new build 5.0.16 to LNL. Please allow a few days for them to build their installer. Primarily this patch fixes the CTD introduced in the last one when I modified the resupply code. It should also ensure that EstabEditor is the release version an not the debug version. It should now ensure that it uses the VS2010 vcredit package to install the correct dlls. This should fix the "ordinal" issue we had for a few users. Changes: *...
