Thanks for this reply, I agree about army doctrine but my question was how these are ‘large scale offensive barrages’ used at Company level with company mortar support which is what we are generally playing at (again I am only commenting on WW 2 I know artillery accuracy has improved since...
House rule all you want, hell we play with some in our group but let’s try not to break what is an elegant system and turn it into an ASL monster (I have played ASL so am talking from experience). I’ve just seen some other suggested rules changes in the main forum and have left my comments on...
Sounds good!
Re; natural 6 on an attack roll then there is a chance for a Fire Check and a follow-up dice roll is needed to confirm if a Fire starts in a Flammable hex will the be a base fire number with modifiers i.e. wooden building, stone building etc or will there be a list of terrain types...
Hi, have I missed something are we playing Lock n Load Operational now, creeping barrages, extended fire missions etc...I wasn’t in the designer meeting for this but are we playing Operation Bagration or a tactical Skirmish?
Let’s think about it, we have a company commander in day to day...
Interesting thought so the vehicle is taking advantage say of a slight depression in the ground in a hex, but is this chrome for chromes sake just adding complexity (and another counter)?
I think that vehicles on hilltops when fired at from a lower position or behind stone wall should get hull...
Ah great news! Thanks.
The Tachanka is cool, I thought the Soviets had phased them out long before WW II? Maybe they were improvised by cavalry units.
My thoughts on the above;
Lose the vehicle shadow from the counter
Include a printed rule book with the game
Hi Stéphane!
Thanks for your reply!
Re 2) so you think Heroes do need to be wounded regarding the special fortified building entry or is that overkill?
You’ve had a busy day today it seems.
Funnily we are considering revisiting Dark July it being July ...
Cheers!
Hey Fulgar, we’ve always played the stacking limit is per side so double the total could in theory be in the same hex for a melee...I don’t think that is specifically denoted in the Rules text but it is implied by the example that stacking can be exceeded.
Cheers!
Thanks Stéphane!
“They still must fire during the same impulse as the unit possessing them and at the same hex.”
That line does make the intent is clearer than elsewhere, I.e the initial paragraph from page 34.
I’ll discuss it with my usual opponent and we’ll decide which way to go...
Hi All!
Good to see people still active here. I’ve been away from board gaming for quite a while (family and work priorities) but getting back into them, including LnL Tactical now.
Okay regarding...
“The squad with the bazooka must fire at the same hex as the bazooka but not necessarily the...
Nice idea, expanding the range is a good thing, may get more buyers err players (and more dollars in means in the end more products overall).
Good looking counters.
BUT needs a different brand to cover the range rather than LnLT.
Good luck with it!
:)
Hey Rydo,
Sorry i hate being a naysayer but I don’t see advantages in the suggested changes for play (they are great for aesthetics). Just being realistic. The suggested hexes are harder to determine as they are not complete and the smaller numbers are by nature going to be harder to read...
Hmmm even after these pictures full hexes and bigger numbers IMO, you have to allow for not only older eyes but less than ideal light...looks like I’m a heretic!
“The Canadian Army is still missing after all these years. :arghh:“
Like all Commonwealth countries like the Aussies the Canadians can be represented by the current counters they just need scenarios. If we have special Canadian counters we need counters for Aussies, Kiwis, Indians, South...
