In PBEM, my fav scenario length is 25 - 32 turns. I can go to 50 turns and once played 90 turns.
A 90 email scenario takes about 120 days to play.
A 48 turn scenario at 10 mins is 8 hours. So PBEM scenarios need to be short.
OR: Allow the players to agree that the scenario ends at a certain...
Yes I agree. I can only last 10 game minutes between issuing orders. So a PBEM scenario could only last 300 minutes or 5 game hours.
I have often thought about making a scenario with nothing but arty units. Then rename them all to "infantry". Then you get a section on patrol facing an enemy...
I prefer wargaming H2H no matter how good the AI might be. If this goes ahead I will be very happy!
Dave, you need to create 2 folders in the game directory:
PBEM Receive
PBEM Send
The players agree on the options and then Player A sets up the game. The set up must include both email...
The game "Command OPs 1 - Battles from the Bulge" came with 7 video tutorials.
They can now be found on Youtube.
Watch Youtube on your netbook or tablet with CO2 installed on your desktop - and follow instructions.
They are excellent!
.
I started Battles from the Bulge and the ~ key shrinks units to a small size as it has always done.
I have just downloaded the game engine for Command Ops 2. The ~ key does not shrink units.
The manual says that it is supposed to - or have I missed something?
.
The scenarios are the same. It is the game engine that has changed.
So, the features are improvements to the game engine - not to the scenarios as such.
.
No Dave that makes it too complex.
An artillery unit is detached from it's parent HQ and attached to HQ 2
When HQ 2 moves all it's subordinates move too - which means the artillery. The arty should always be in range of all units under HQ 2.
In the meantime the arty could be "in general...
1. To be able to watch an AAR made by somebody else
2. If somebody else has a later version of the game engine that I can still watch the AAR using my version of the engine.
3. To type text and draw circles and arrows to highlight things to the audience.
4. To upload the file to...
If you are driving a tank or flying an aircraft, then it is a version of First Person Shooter - not a wargame.
Of the 20 listed, only 4 are actually wargames. Of those only 2 are to my taste.
The list is a dumb list.
I feel we should retain waypoints. In every game the AI is not good enough to select the correct route. In many cases I place lots of waypoints just to make sure they follow the correct route.
I too the request that at each waypoint there is an option to change the orders.
If you have the...
