    Chir river reboot scenario

Check out the After Action Reports forum section. There are some really well done ones there, with screen shots and good descriptions. They should give you some ideas of how to go about approaching things. Also on YouTube, Dave has a video of the Return to St. Vith scenario, which you have, that...

    Chir river reboot scenario

You can have a ton of fun without the patch. Dave is working on some changes to the way attack orders and formations are handled (to simplify). He's been working on it for a while. It's a complicated thing, and then there is real life. However, don't let that stop you. The existing DLC will keep...

Thanks for the explanation. This sounds good! Dave

I agree. That scheme sounds good, and that simple designation is fine. You probably should have some kind of default in case there are not 4 or 5 waypoints too, which means maybe creating 1 or 2 more just in front of where the move starts? Dave

I've run many. And my wife is an ultramarathon runner. Her advice to me when I tried one the first time (50 mile trail race in VT) was - Just keep moving forward and realize you have nothing else on your calendar today except "run" The just keep moving forward part, at least, is appropriate...

Yeah, I got that one. And being in HS and college in the 70s, it's been a running gag with my friends from those days ever since (I'm a Dave as well) Dave

    Sounds like good progress! Dave

When is a tutorial not a tutorial.

In the Quickstart Guide that comes with the game there are a number of pages at the end specifically describing getting going in the St. Vith scenario. You can read along, print out, whatever. Couple that with Dave's YouTube video, which continues the action longer and goes into what to do after...

If you go through the forums some more, you'll find links to some user created scenarios, groups of scenarios, semi-modules. An excellent one on the battles around Caen, a pretty extensive North Africa one (which unfortunately because of my own real life issues I just haven't had time to really...

    Tunisia Module

Well, sorry. I downloaded this before the holidays, intending to spend some time with it over the break. I did get to open look at a couple maps, but then my father in law died. Then my mother in law caught COVID and is STILL very sick. And then just to top things off a week ago my mom died. And...

Need help in acquiring the current patch

I get the same, now that I look. Something wrong on their end, it looks like. That's where they are supposed to be. Dave

Aren't we all. Have a great holiday season, rest up. I'll be doing the same. Here's hoping for a happier new year! Dave

Need help in acquiring the current patch

Log into the main LnL web site (not the forums), go to My Account, and there is a tab for Serial Keys. It should show you existing keys and give you Steam keys for CO2 and each DLC you own. Download the game engine for free on Steam, and on Steam you can then add Steam keys for all the DLC you...

    A question about equipment descriptions

I've always enjoyed the detailed ones in game. It means I don't have to go somewhere else when I want to know something about a particular system. But if it's an issue of resources to devote, I'd be fine with brief descriptions in the interest of game development. Dave

    One small suggestion

As one of those colorblind people I'll chime in that I have no problems with differentiating the colors in the game. They stand out for me, where sometimes color choices can be a real problem. Many graphs and maps online are real problems for me.

Open beta of the new patch is available on Steam

My go to test is Joe's Bridge. It had been CTD before I could organize an attack on the bridge, at various times for no apparent reason. I'm late in day 2 now and so far, all is well (except my attack, which has stalled just over the bridge :-) ) Dave

    Aper and bombard

Well, I just don't know about the German artillery. Someone else may know whether they actually had an APER shrapnel type round. They may have. It's certainly possible. I just don't know. I know a lot about US towed artillery from my own experience and being taught the history and development...

    Aper and bombard

I can partly answer this. US 105mm howitzers didn't have a dedicated APER round until Vietnam when Beehive rounds were introduced. A beehive round is a warhead filled with thousands of evil little finned darts with a charge at the base. The fuze could be set for muzzle action or some distance...

Nice. I can already see this is better. I've been playing with Joe's Bridge, giving an attack order to the brigade HQ and watch what happens. Much better response with the latest update. So far no stalling out at all. Dave
