they've all been asked before, many times. Anyway, to show I am not trying to sow discontent for the game, I will try to post an AAR of my current game, The Stolberg Corridor.

if you check the AAR's from EIGHT years ago, you will see that I played this game a lot and loved it. But, it's been a long, long time. I know Dave is alone in programming this game, and respect for his skills, but...it's been almost a decade. it's always, "we're getting closer....oh, wait, no...

I haven't played in years, but when I did I played a lot and enjoyed it. I have several AARs posted. However, it seems like it has been years waiting on a critical update to improve gameplay. Is that still the case? Where is the game at these days?

    Race for Bastonge

yes these results are very unhistorical. It is difficult not to take advantage of the ART if it's there. The AI does do a good job, but it never comes close to setting up a serious bombardment. I'm guessing a fair amount of gamers use the ART extensively? I would be curious to know. Heavy...

    Battle of the roadblocks

wow, sorry. I hadn't realized I didn't post my end game. counter attacks were furious so I never go to Bastogne. Most of exit forces were held up by meager allied forces, frustrating. Was a draw.

Noob - Needs help getting started

agreed, the tutorial videos are a must, even if they are old. CO2 is "easy" to play, but there's a lot under the hood and you need to get those videos and read the manual (personally I printed it out). Dave, nice to hear you are updating those videos. I would go to "Foothill of the Gods" and...

    Forming up delay

I believe stat under the "command tab" also impact delays in forming up?

    Move or attack ?

56 minute bombardment? I was encouraged by the devs not to take these kinds of actions but to leave ART up to the AI (though I agree that successful offensive operations, and defensive ones as well, need some human management of ART - and some SMOKE). Do you often do such bombardments? Don't...

    Anti-Axis Bias....?

Mark, I made this same mistake many times, and wondered how my platoon of panthers & stuG's could be so easily beaten off by a couple of shermans and TD's. As with everything else, what I had to learn is that even with overpowered AFV's you have to pay attention to how you give orders. Just...

Right choice but something I noticed.

I'm sure Jason hasn't made the same mistakes I have made, but I have found that it is when I get sloppy with my order (fastest, quickest, unspecified, etc) that I end up with HQ or ART forces leading the way, and usually get ambushed or something horrible like that. Under most circumstancesI...

Noob - Needs help getting started

Dunnie, I'm guessing that like most folks on this forum I have played many WW2 era PC games of all types. The list is extensive and some are better than others purely based on preference. Some of my favorites recently have been Schwerpunkt WWiiE, , Steel Beasts, Tigers Unleashed, HOI3...

All American over Nijmegen - German side

sounds reasonable. I suppose percentage-wise I usually micromanage about 50-70% of ART, but almost always the "heavy guns" and usually just in situations where I want to create an offensive or defensive schwerpunkt. In some situations you just have to have a barrage. Am I way off track on this?
