Hello guys,

Just a few days ago I decided to inscribe on the Command Ops 2 Forum. I never was so keen on participating in discussions on internet fora, but now I thought I really had to let you know how much I appreciate your fantastic game-series CommandOps.

I think in 2006 I bought COTA and later on CommandOps BFTB and enjoyed playing those games very much. Only a short time ago I discovered the change to CommandOps 2. Seeing that Arjuna and his team are still working to improve the game and that new scenarios are added in very interesting “packs”, I decided to buy the Commander Pack and now also the two new game-expansions KOAD and West Wall. Especially the last one I like very much, being born in The Netherlands in the region of the “Peel marshes”.

Probably like most of you, I started my “armchair general” career with board games like Avalon hill D-Day, the Bulge game, Afrika Corps, Stalingrad, Thunder at Casino… later on the marvelous SPI games Wacht am Rhein and Atlantic wall. I also played some of the Squad leader board games. These games were (and still are) fantastic. In particular the “looking top down on the board” is in my opinion a thing that will always be missed in computer games. But the problem was finding an adversary and finding the time to play these games, being so time-consuming, calculating every move, every attack…

So with the arrival of the PC I was very happy to see arise historical wargames like Panzer General, Talonsoft games like the Bulge game, TOAW….

But with the appearance of the CommandOps games with the “pausable real time” system, a new dimension was added to historical correct wargames : seeing the troops under your command moving and executing your orders is really exciting and sometimes unnerving! It gives you a really good impression what the commander on the field must experience, how difficult it is to react adequately to the actions of the enemy and make good decisions under time pressure!

In short : I think this game is the best historical war simulation game I have ever seen – thank you very much to realize it and keep up the good work !
