I think this might be a case of MS Visual Studio not cleaning my game directory properly. It seems to be leaving the EstabEditor app when it deletes all the other apps on Clean Solution. Mmm...bloody MS!

Tried it and get same error when compiling. Slightly different compiler output though:

I dont get the compile error anymore, and I can click Build>Run Estab Manager and that works properly. But now when compiling it gets to "Importing sides" then I get a pop up error message "EstabManager MFC Application has stopped working" along with a helpful offer to report the issue to Microsoft.

One other thing, Im assuming the procedure to create a new Estab is to copy an existing one using EM.exe. Using New Estab File>Import XML>Export XML as new name. Which creates the XML and copyname_images folder with all the images?
So after doing that I compare the number of images in both folders, original and copy. COTAEstab_images has 522 images but my testCOTA_images only has 191 images. BFTBEstab_images has 222 images, testBFTB_images has 219 images.

Hit OK. Hit Build, Compile and get the following



I've already saved and say yes and get this error again



and the following compiler output:

The new images file I created (BFTBEstab test_Images) is COMPLETELY empty though!

Im not seeing any change, its hanging at "importing sides". Dave is the procedure I described to copy and create a new Estab correct? I want to make sure Im not doing something wrong to cause the issue.
EDIT: It seems to be the correct procedure because following it Im able to copy and create a new Estab and compile it in BFTB.

OK try copying the Images from the original Estab Images directory into the new Images directory and then try and recompile.

OK I emptied my testcota_images folder and copied everything from COTAEstab_images folder over to the testcota_images folder.
I made no changes to the XML but still hangs at "importing sides".
EDIT: I also tried changing the name of my test estab from testcota.xml to testcotaEstab.xml, and testcota_images to testcotaEstab_images. But still hangs at "importing sides". Even with the new EM.exe file above.

Tried that and still no joy.

As you can see from my previous post I didn't use EM at all when trying to modify the estab - what is (should be) the correct sequence if everything is working fine?

You need to copy the images into the new images folder that would have been created for your testbftb.xml file (ie testbftb_Images)

OK that's what Ive been doing since lastnight. Still hanging/crashing at "importing sides".

I'll look into this further. I need to find out why it's working for me here and not for you there. It may be that we need some other MS dll or something.

Dave, it may be worth mentioning that Ive tried these steps on a Win7 laptop and a Win8.1 laptop with the same results.
