Description
Game Description:
Endless Burning Sand

In a man to man fight, the winner is he who has one more round in his magazine.

Desert Heat 2nd Edition w/Upgrade Kit brings all the heat, sand, grit and fluid action of the North African Campaign to you in our second game in the Nations At War series. Desert Heat Second Edition is a platoon-level scale fighting in the desert of North Africa during World War II. All of the tanks, armored vehicles, anti-tank guns, mortars, infantry, air support, and artillery will be at the tip of your fingers.

The Italians, Germans, and Vichy French will fight against the British, their Commonwealth Allies from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, the Americans and the Free French. The names of many of these battles are well known, but Desert Heat gives you the chance to get down to the details. Mechili, Tobruk, Gazala, Sidi Rezegh, El Alamein, Germans Kasserine Pass, Medjez-el-Bab, Faid, El Guettar, and more. New to the system are obstacles such as Wire and Anti-Tank Ditches. And what would desert combat be without that ever-unpredictable variable: Dust. It’s Panzer IIs, IIIs, and IVs against M3 Lees and M5 Stuarts. It’s M13/40s and L3s against Crusaders, Valentines, and M3 Grants. It’s Armored Infantry in desperate close assaults. It’s ATGs, air support, and mines.

In Desert Heat 2nd Edition w/Upgrade Kit, you will find we designed everything from the ground up, newly designed maps, counters, player aids, scenarios and of course the new Core Rules. We now include a Design Your Own Scenario generator adding hours of battling to your gaming time.

Mod Contents:
Desert Heat Module Rules;
Nations at War Core rules v3.0;
5 full sheets of German, Commonwealth, and Admin Counters;
4 geomorphic high-resolution maps;
Formation Draw Card Deck;
Detailed Reference Charts and TECs;
Solo Assistant including manual, deck, and reference cards;
Some WW II era background music and battle sounds; and
1 scenario (Not an Inch of Ground).

Notes:
What is a Companion Book?
The Companion Books are the same as the Module Rules and Scenario booklets that are available in our games, with the exception we included most of the charts and tables that come within that game. So why release the Companion book? The Companion Books were designed for those gamers who are playing virtually and did not want to purchase the entire game just for the scenarios and tables to play via Vassal or Tabletop Simulator. So to be clear the Companion Books are NOT complete games but contain everything a player will need to play via Vassal or Tabletop Simulator. Players who prefer to play virtually can do so without the need to own the board (boxed) edition of the game. The Companion Books can be used by players playing digitally via our Digital DLC editions via Steam for their Macs or Windows computers.

So if you own or purchase the board games you don't need to purchase the Companion Books. Some board game owners prefer them since they are spiral bound and will lay flat on the table and any typos or known errors found since the printing of the original edition of the board game has been updated. The Companion books can be used with any game printing or game rule edition.

If you are looking for opponents on either Vassal or Tabletop Simulator can use our Discord server at https://discord.com/invite/DQBhqFx.

Please Note: This is not a complete product and requires the use of the free modules via Vassal or Tabletop Simulator or the Digital DLC modules available via Steam. The Companion books can also be used with the Tabletop Boardgame as well.

Other Notes:
The map in this mod and the counters are scaled in size for the single scenario alone. Players who wish to play multi-map scenarios after purchasing the scenarios from the links below may need to scale down the maps and counters to fit the table.

This mod incorporates Mangofeet's (here on TTS) stack exploder mod which allows stacks to be examined with a right click and choosing the explode option. We plan to incorporate this functionality across all LnLP mods if no issues develop.

I'll have a look, thanks.

I was setting up the Rats in the Dust scenario, but could not find the 3rd Pistoia counters. The formation card is there, but no counters that I could find. I'm not sure if they are missing, or if they are somewhere on the table already and I can't find them.
