    We Have Ways

Haven't posted for ages but still follow these threads and still play the game/simulation. Anyway, for those of us who are interested (obsessed) with WW2 listen to Al Murray, James Holland and John McManus on the podcast We Have Ways - you won't be disappointed. And to my old friend Gunnar...

How to solve this bug?And Why change the interface?

Go to Game Support. There's a thread called FAQ - Font Size - Why does the text overrun the dialog? This should solve your problem. Regards Tim

    German ammo box

Hi Jim, I think I've worked it out. Take a look at the cut-away drawing in: https://www.mp44.nl/equipment/patronenkasten.htm To pack a German mg ammo box with 300 belted rounds is rather awkward, some of the rounds point the wrong way, but can be done. I suspect it was easier to pack the box...

    German ammo box

Trying to work out whether German ammo boxes have a capacity of 250 or 300rnds. Any ideas, I've come across both amounts. Regards Tim

    HEAT rounds

Actually Jim you're right! For some reason sections are labelled paragraphs in the document when in the conventional sense they're not paragraphs. Hopefully confusion cleared up. Regards Tim

    HEAT rounds

I think Jim means section 12 not paragraph 12. Section 12 is in Chapter 2 'Training' page 19. Correct Jim? Regards Tim

    HEAT rounds

Hi Jim and Gunnar, just in case I've caused a bit of confusion, when I said AP in my earlier posts I meant armour piercing not anti-personnel. Regards Tim

    HEAT rounds

By the way, the M8 HMC for AP (as it fired HEAT) should show the same armour penetration regardless of distance. HEAT rounds because of their low velocity weren't very accurate. Regards Tim

    HEAT rounds

Hi Jim, as I'm sure you know, assault gun platoons for US tank bns, cavalry sqns etc. employed M4 105mm and HMC 75mm M8 assault guns. Both of these vehicles are equipped with howitzers - low velocity guns compared to regular tank or tank-destroyer guns (which have a muzzle velocity about two to...

    HEAT rounds

Just noticed in the Estab Editor that the M4 105mm howitzer has a blast radius of 15m for its aarm HEAT round (probably a typo). In light of the above discussion this should be changed to 0. Regards Tim

    A question about equipment descriptions

I quite like them but I think concise better than verbose. Probably along the lines of what Jim is suggesting. To take Jim's example I'd delete the last sentence. The rest of it is perfect. I think I just need to know what it is and what it does. Regards Tim

    Unit strength indicator issue

Hi Gunnar, from the images you posted it seems that in most cases you need more than just the gun crew to manhandle a gun over a significant distance. What would you estimate, two or three times the regular gun crew? Or do you think in the European theatre over moderate terrain a single gun crew...

    Unit strength indicator issue

Hi Gunnar, I wasn't aware such large artillery pieces were manhandled over such great distances, so I stand corrected! Your idea of allowing some movement without the prime mover would be dependent on the number of men left in the unit, wouldn't it? Also I imagine the unit would fatigue very...

    Unit strength indicator issue

I think this relates to something I commented on in a thread way back (on the Matrix forums - might even have been Battlefront!). My point then was artillery losing its prime movers during combat but surviving guns still being able to move despite no prime mover. The obvious conclusion is that...

    Steam

And special thanks to John for the screenshots which allowed me to understand how to fix it. A picture is worth a thousand words, thanks John. Regards Tim

    Steam

Sorted!! Thanks to all of you especially John, Dave and Gunnar. Scale and Layout had been set to 150% (don't understand how!). Setting to 100% and all looks good. Also sorts out the problems I reported with 5.1.28. One last puzzling thing, why if I had the wrong Scale and layout settings was...

    Steam

Did a complete uninstall of Steam and reinstall under new username. For Start-up options now have: LnL Steam Which looks identical to what I had before. Regards Tim

    Steam

Ok, had a quick search and 100% scaling in Windows 10 seems to be the default, so don't see how that could have changed. Regards Tim

    Steam

I know Goodguy is trying to help, he always does (we go back a long way!). The shots you show look perfect! Not like mine. Tried actual screen resolution rather than automatic but doesn't make any difference. How do I check 100% Windows scaling? All my other graphics look good. Regards Tim

    Steam

I don't do anything differently with my LnL or Steam versions. As you can see from the Start-up windows the Steam text is slightly bigger and noticeably less sharp. Regards Tim
