A Wing and a Prayer Update Package

I have a question about the target symbol with a -1. I believe that causes a one level shift to the bombing but is it also the minus one you talk about for flak which make a hit on only a 6? Thanks Tom Konczal

Increase chance of Enemy Interceptor attacks

Any of them are good. The simplest would be to up the Formation Events Table 6.1.1 a +1 for each level. Also, change the level that actually diminishes the ability percentage wise to get interceptors.

    Multiple attacker question

OK then if I damage him, in the second round of combat do I fight the damaged one or does the good wingman take over and the damaged enemy becomes the support. I played it that I continue to attack the damaged one. Was I right?

    Multiple attacker question

Multiple attacker question After the escorts vs. interceptors, an ace in a damaged FW-190 along with 2 other damaged FW-190s attacked the same B-17. Question #1. Is this a single attack by the ace with one defensive fire and a +2 to the ace attack for two supporters or three separate attacks...

    More errata

I believe that the bottom of the Escort Engagement Table 9.1.6 for the second die roll actually belongs at the bottom of the Enemy Interceptor Type Table 9.1.2.

    1942 Campaign AAR

A Wing and a Prayer 1942 Campaign AAR report. The first two missions were milk runs with only the flak over the target and no enemy air interceptions. However the first was in heavy cloud cover with no damage to the target and the second in clear weather fell one hit short of damaging the...

    More errata

I found your current Errata PDF. Thank you for doing it. Here is one I have noticed you may wish to add: In the book rules 7.3.1 says foe each bomber in the not ready section roll a 1d6. 1-3 Not Ready. 4-6 Ready The 1 player sequence card under 7.3 says just the opposite: 1–3 Ready 4-6.Not...

    Second attack questions

From reading rule 9.1.10, the second attack between escort fighters and interceptors you reassign which aircraft are being attacked. The third paragraph says: ....return to step 9.1.8 position escort fighters .... I assume that should be 9.1.6 since there is no 9.1.8. My question is: for the...

    Air combat questions

No, you are correct. I reread the rules and understand it better now. I also assumed that, for their second attack, the interceptors reroll to determine which bombers they attack on the second attack. Is that correct?

    Air combat questions

Reply to your #3: After rolling for FW one 90s, I rolled a D6 and got a six which meant there were six interceptors. I had no escort at this point and assumed that the last two interceptors had to attack in a separate second wave. I gave them to attacks in the second wave. Hope that was correct.

    Air combat questions

On my third mission to Amiens, I was on the return flight two boxes from the English base over water when I rolled a four on the formation events table. Then I rolled a seven for enemy fighters and got 6 FW-190s. Since I was on the return trip, my fighter escort was gone. I skipped the fighter...

    First mission questions

So I don't worry about the negative bombing modifiers of the crews in the other bombers. I just totaled the bombing factors of the bombers themselves. Off we go on Mission 2 to Antwerp!

    First mission questions

I completed my first mission to Meault but, because of heavy cloud cover, got only two hits for no victory points. One bomber received flak damaged over the target! No enemy aircraft interceptions. However, two questions came up during the bombing run. Both deal with rule 11.2. #1: Rule 2.7.2...

A Wing and a Prayer enemy interception question

Thanks again. I am really excited to try this tomorrow. It is so different from B-17 QTS and Target for Today and the DVG's B-17 Leader game. Looks like a lot of fun. thanks for the quick response. Tom Konczal

A Wing and a Prayer enemy interception question

Great! Thanks! So if I understand correctly, you do a formation events table check once every sequence of play and, based upon the rolls, this is the only way enemy interceptors can enter the game.

A Wing and a Prayer enemy interception question

Yes I have played B-17 QTS as well as Ttarget for Ttoday and in both of those games it is a random die roll whether or not a fighter appears in each new zone you enter. In this game, if I read 9.1.1 correctly, enemy interceptors are generated automatically in each box you enter on the way to...

A Wing and a Prayer enemy interception question

My game of a Wing and a Prayer arrived today. Getting it all set up and ready to play my first game tomorrow. 1942 5 mission campaign. Reading through the rules, I am confused about one thing. It appears that you roll for enemy interceptors in every box you enter and, after determining the type...
