Okay, thanks for that.
Got to admit, have not played in quite awhile. But the scenario design stuff came back pretty quick, all the nuances of play will too, I hope.
The map maker manual indeed has a passage about maximum map size and I did exceed that.
I was hoping since the map is fairly simple, and computers have come a long way since that statement was written, things would work. But maybe not so much - Ha!
I can play the scenario if I don't issue...
So I'm running a test play to see if everything works and the following is happening:
When I am at the maximum zoom in level units I click on to command or review, they won't respond to the mouse click. All units un-clickable.
When I zoom out by one (or any level less the maximum zoom in) it...
Disaster occurred this morning!
I somehow corrupted the Establishment file and can't recover...
Too bad, I don't know what to do to recover...A bit disappointed to say the least as I have dozens of hours at this. I try and compile and it just does an import complete and stops.
Well I found the...
This is a user made scenario. Eventually I will upload it to this site for use by any user. Also getting feedback or error reporting would be nice too.
Took me awhile to learn how to create a scenario.
First the map - then the establishment (I created the Soviets from scratch) - Then learn the...
Yes I have seen reports from both sides (now) and I see your point or Rule of Thumb. Since it's impossible to really get the exact science on OB's and TO&E's I will be cautious and figure truth lies somewhere in the middle.
I have found several more articles on Operation Winter Storm which are better detail than Von Mellenthin's book, but still have a German bias. The book you suggest looks pretty good from what I can tell, thank you for the suggestion. I will pick it up. Edit: I got it as a Kindle edition since I...
You are correct, I've adjusted that because I have multiple tank units i.e. T-34-1941, T34-1942. T34-1942-Guards. Makes for more entries in the Establishment file but not too bad. (It's actually the 76mm gun that's adjusted but in order for me to keep track I make a new vehicle also).
I'm still...
Running test plays I've found that using higher or lower rate of fire per minute on the Main Gun in the weapons section of the Establishment works best for simulating the tank kills that fit history (as best I can anyway!)
Hopefully I can start a discussion and other ways or general feed back...
OK, Understand your answer. Thanks very much for the quick response.
I'll tell you Jim creating Establishments, drawing the maps, creating the scenario and test playing takes a lot of time! You already know this and I'm getting to know it very well - Ha!
So I've recently got some additional sources and I am reviewing my East Front Establishments, item by item.
I come up with a couple of clarification questions.
On a Bn HQ unit in the General tab there are fields for Move Class and Force Size. I listed the move class as foot and the Force size...
So after a couple of years of not working on these scenarios, I went to my backup archives and got the files all back on the laptop. Right now remembering how it all works, my 72 year old memory isn't helping...
1) Establishments
2) Map files and Map scans
3) Scenario files
Seems like we are...
Glad to hear/see your health issue is stabilized! Aint aging a PITA...
Seems to me (I'm 71) that the only thing about aging that I like is you can blame everything on it...
I have a question if it's Okay. If it is still too early there is no need to answer, no way I'm trying to pressure anyone.
Can you put a rough time-frame on how long until a Beta is released on Steam to evaluate? Days/weeks/months?
