    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Richard: Greetings to you, sir, and please call me Dave! Not only am I new to LNLT, but I have never experienced Vassal at all, unfortunately. Like you, I much prefer FTF: my best Boet (a former Captain in the SADF) and I have been trying to do modern miniatures via Skype, but the challenges...

Flak hits on bomb run 6 or 5-6

I am in 100% agreement about flak being more dangerous from IP to target (bombers were again free to take evasive after bombs away. Thus, I'd say 5-6 on the bomb run, 6 everywhere else.

    B-17G Availability (Table 7.3.2)

I'm playing a variant on the replacement availability of the B-17G (which started arriving in combat units in Aug-Sep '43). I've modified table 7.3.2 "Bomber Replacement Table" as follows: 1942: No B-17G available in '42, B-17F on roll of 4, 5, 6 (to reflect influx of bombers as 8th AF ops...

    WWII Italy

    Many Thanks!

    WWII Italy

I like ALL of those ideas!!! I would think such a product would be pretty scenario-heavy and I could see it complementing HoN or HotML as the third "front" for LnLT.

    WWII Italy

Renzo: I meant the Italian Front starting in '43. Although...I think Italians on the Ost Front would be a good idea for a supplement as well!

    WWII Italy

I'm VERY new to LnLT, but I can tell it's going to be a long association! I'd very much like to see WWII Italy represented by a supplement or stand-alone game.

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Thanks for your advice about HotM: I got a lot of great advice in here, and it all boiled down to HotM having a campaign as well as scenarios. As for Villainy, it says you just have to have any core product...which is why I decided to get that one as well. Now all I need after delivery is a...

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

And the decision is in...Heroes of the Motherland and Days of Villainy. I didn't get the Battle Generator for Heroes of the Motherland yet since I decided there should be enough in there to keep me busy for a while. The Libya civil war just looked too intriguing not to pick up as an alternate to...

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Thanks Perry! I can already tell that it will drag me in, but I guess there are worse things to do with money...like eat. Anyway, I've also been looking hard at Heroes of the Motherland, so your suggestion is well-timed!

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Well, I have started reading the rules in the starter set: to those of you that recommended this, THANK YOU! My first impression when looking at the rules was "Whoa! And this is the STARTER set???" After jumping in, however, I became immersed almost immediately and was pleasantly surprised at...

Any Chances for a Battle Generator for The Bear and the Jackal?

I have another one laying around...I think it's called "Zinky Boys" or something similar. I'll have to look.

Any Chances for a Battle Generator for The Bear and the Jackal?

If you haven't, try reading a few general works on the war..."Afghantsy", "The Great Gamble", and "The Soviet-Afghan War" are all good. For a REALLY good treatment of Soviet tactics, the best work is "The Bear Went Over the Mountain" which is an actual translation of portions of the Soviet...

Any Chances for a Battle Generator for The Bear and the Jackal?

I'll throw in my two rubles. The Soviets started the war with an institutional bias towards European operations. They mounted many large-scale block and sweep and air mobile multi-battalion operations, but as time moved on and they started learning lessons, they switched to a more defensive...

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Another question to you LnLT gurus out there: if you use Plexiglas or Perspex sheets for your maps, what size works for these games? I've been looking at map sizes in the various games and I know individual maps will be combined for different scenarios, so what would be a good all around size of...

    Getting started in LnL Tactical

Well, phooey! Too much good advice, guys! I can't decide between Normandy, Defiance, Africa, the Falklands, or Mogadishu. So...I got the starter set and the Solo module to have on hand when my gamer ADD subsides and I can decide. :woot: And I thought fly-fishing was intricate...

    Crack Crew in '42?

I'd be interested in hearing what everyone's thoughts are about replacing the "Crack" crew choice with a "Veteran" crew in the Short and Full campaigns? Thinking of the crew ratings as levels of training, it seems to me that "Veteran" would be about the highest level of training you could...
