NaW seems to me to be WaW light due to the lack of missiles, advanced armor and similar modifiers. Combat, basic movement and assault execution are very similar. I am playing NAW to "warm up" for WaW 85 Storming the Gap coming out in July.

Make sure you have the newer version of the Solo rules (Version1.5). Melee can be ordered by the card directly (see page 25). The example card says "Enter Melee or overun if..." Also see 6.1.3 Executing Victory Objectives, the example on on page 25 "Firing or Melee would work but which one...
