Your reading comprehension is lacking.
1. How the function actually works is not mentioned at all in the manual, just how to use the function and what the output is.
2. I specifically stated that "I'm not saying steps 1-3 are performed in exactly that order but it doesn't really matter."
Thank...
It's a tool that performs the following functions:
1. It calculates what can be seen on the game map with perfect visibility from the point selected on the map.
2. It decreases (if applicable) the values found in Step 1 by a certain amount due to phase (day/night) of day.
3. It decreases (if...
I haven't switched anything. I asked for a tool that is already available in the game to be available during the whole game instead of being restricted for use only sometimes during the game.
As I said in my previous post:
Nothing about the game is realistic. In most scenarios you are playing...
I used Google Earth as stated with maximum elevation exaggeration. You can go to "Tools" Options" and enter a number of the elevation exaggeration. It allows you to better see subtle differences in elevation.
Nothing about the game is realistic. In most scenarios you are playing as a Division...
The real combatants had the advantage of being able to see the 3D contours with their own eyes. In game, you only get a 2D representation with sometimes very large contours (for instance, 100m in the First Clash at Veve scenario). So how do you determine the actual terrain contours in game since...
It would be nice to be ale to set the time for the LOS and LOS Area Tools in the Tools window instead of it only showing the LOS at the current game time. This could be accomplished by adding a time field, which could be a copy of the Start/End/Assault time boxes from the Edit Task window. The...
After reading through the manuals and learning how to use the Estab and Scenario editors, I have come to the conclusion that the manual is wrong. Each individual vehicle has it's own "Max Gradient" parameter (as jimcarravallah pointed out above) and it seems to vary between around 20° and...

Great information. Thank you for the reply.
A lot of things are not worth modeling at this scale. I'm sure there are examples of...
The manual states that "motorised units can only traverse ground with more than a 30 degree slope if a road is present." That means that Motorized should be able to traverse any ground with less than or equal to a 30 degree slope without a road being present.
I am playing the "Island Prize"...
Thought this was kind of funny. If you look at the picture below, you can see that 234th MG Garrison Battalion is ready to defend the island of Leros in the "Island Prize" Scenario of "The Cauldron Scenarios".
The top picture shows where the unit is "in game" and the bottom picture from Google...
All good points. The results of battles in CO2 seem "realistic" (for the most part), so the program does a pretty good job of modeling the various factors going into combat.
But for a scenario designer, I can see it being a bit confusing to pick an "appropriate" RoF for a weapon. It probably...
I am getting back into this game after a long break and am playing the Marsa el Brage scenario. While examining the units available, I noticed that all the German AT Guns seemed to have a low Rate of Fire (RoF) [Note that all numbers are Rapid RoF in game].
The RoF for the 4.7 cm pak 36 (t) is...
