A relaxing afternoon at War; LnLT style

I had the Saturday off in Ohio so I decided that I'd spend it with my favorite board game. My wife fully supported this decision. [LIE - she's angry at me for not bring up the Christmas Tree from the basement] My favorite era is the Pacific Theater during WW2 for many reasons. My Grandfather...

Tidbits - Heroes of the Pacific: Raid on Taivu

Interesting fact about how Edison and the boys got to Taivu. The APD McKean and Manley transported the majority of the Marines - but - also included in the raid were the YP-298 and YP-346 (in navy slang, the “Yippies”) which were TUNA fishing boats that were purchased or leased “until victory”...

    Learning LOS

Looking for confirmation that I'm understanding LOS correctly. 1) The image below shows the LOS tool as a red line from F7 to I4. The LOS crosses G5 (Light Jungle, degrading). Since the red LOS does not pass through the silhouette (artwork) there is NO degrading modifier. Is this correct...

    Preference: Vassal or TTS

As I’m just starting my journey into Lock n’ Lock board gaming, I’m interested in the veteran choices of competitive play platforms. Do you prefer the Vassal or TTS experience - and most importantly, why? I’ll probably post this question on the Discord channel too. Looking forward to the...

    Heroes of the Pacific questions

Thanks for the reply Ralph. I’ve order Heroes of the Pacific and Solo. I’m hoping that this will be all that I’ll need to enjoy tactical battles in the Pacific. I’ve also picked up the digital games from steam for both the Lock n’ Load tactical w/ dlc’s and the Nations at War with dlc’s. When...

    Heroes of the Pacific questions

I have a zero chance of arranging a face-to-face game, so I want to be sure of a couple items before I purchase. 1) Is there a VASSAL module for Heroes of the Pacific, and if so can it be played by email? (EDIT: Sorry, I missed the VASSAL module indication; so yes - there is a module.) 2) Can...
