Could you add pontoon bridges at some point?

They are different than the bridges in game now - they are much less permanent.
They don't take quite as long to install (I'm not talking about crossing the Danube here) and they are much easier to blow up or destroy.
Might think about the coding required to make them counter specific instead of a map icon.
Therefore a pontoon bridging unit would expend itself and create a pontoon bridge icon on the map.
Also, there are some bridges that allow personnel to cross only, no vehicles. Can those be added too, please.
Personnel
Pontoon
Light
Medium
Heavy
Or something similar.

Thanks

Ioncore was working on some alternate bridge capacity designs in his Khalkhin Gol scenarios. Some of that seems appropriate to at least address pontoon bridge performance.

Very good suggestions. I don't think that the units should be expendable though. In long scenarios, the unit that built say a light or medium pontoon bridge should lose its bridge-building capacity but then regain the ability after a few days. That would reflect the historical sequence of resupplies where engineer units received new pontoon elements through Army supply channels. Also, after running out of pontoon elements, or at smaller rivers/creeks - where it wasn't necessary to use pontoons, engineer units became quite creative, they cut nearby woods or retreived wood from/in other sectors and built provisional bridges, so it's not like an engineer unit could not fulfil its bridge-building role anymore, once it had run out of pontoons/wood.

Some smaller bridges often consisted of a mix of pontoons and stocked or hastily created wood splats, which were then used as narrow emergency bridges for troops, some bridges were just walkways meant to get inf across a river quickly to bolster the bridgehead on the other bank.
In general, engineers were usually ordered to build bridges that could carry trucks (at least) right away. There's a lot of footage where you can see quite some makeshift bridges (some even without pontoons) built with stocks of trees and ropes and where even seemingly fragile pontoon versions can carry light/medium tanks, built by Germans and Russians, whereas many of the Western Allied bridges look like luxury versions, due to the better supply situations in their areas.

Sounds reasonable, seems like almost a necessity in an East Front situation. Both sides utilized some forms of quick bridging.
