Correction: it indicates the image was referenced but doesn't exist. Is this an issue?

I've copied an xml file (EFSTEstab.xml) to EFSTEstab-MyVer.xml to make a modified EStab/coe. Without making any changes to the copy, trying to compile it causes errors for weapons and vehicles. It indicates there are references but the weapons/vehicles don't exist. This has happened with several XML files. Am I missing something in the process? Again, I made no changes to the 'base' xml file yet. Thanks in advance for any help!!
