Good day all, after a long break I manage to lay it on a table again, here few questions while playing 1943 campaign.

Pulled Rennes Mission which required 8 escorts, but I don't understand rule 4.5 why I need to rolla a 1D6 if I already know how many escorts I need to place on a Formation Card ESCORT space

The box distance that each type of escort can apply is referring back and forth from the Air Force Base or is one direction? In this case Rennes is at the 5th box from base and my P-38 can travel up to 8 spaces so can they reach Rennes or the have to make their return at the 4th box?

On Formation Events Table 6.1 I rolled for Enemy Fighters, and I had a very bad roll with 6 BR-109. So at that point I started immediately 9.0 rule, rolling at 9.1.4 none of mine P-38 manage to fight so I choose 9.1.5 rule for adding 2x P-38 against the Intercetors, how 9.1.6.1 & 9.1.6.2 rules are applied?

If Wingmen are not withdraw after a potential 2nd round of fight does the battle continue with the remaining Interceptors?

Once the airfight with escorts is completed then the Interceptors are battling against the bomber, can you please tell me how to read the 6.3 table for placing the Interceptors vs Bombers?

Thank you!

Good morning, I am not the "best specialist" of the Game as I just discovered it week ago... My understanding of table 6.3 is basically as follower :
First 1d6 roll to determine which element of the wing is under attack of the given fighter
Second 1d6 roll to determine more precisely which aircraft in the previously determined element.
The first part of table 6.3 has to be understood in accordance with number of elements (number of "x3 bombers" groups) for the ongoing mission.
Is it clearer ? Hope so...

Exemple :
The flight is composed of 9 bombers, that is to say 3 elements (of 3 bombers each).
To randomly determine which bomber is specifically attacked by each interceptor repeat the sequence :
First 1d6 roll. Result is a 3. As per table 6.3, as we have 3 elements in the flight you select third row, and a 3 points out the "high" element
Second 1d6 roll. Result is a 4. Thus the attacked bomber is the "lead(er)" (of the "high" element).

Hi, will try to answer your other questions.
About rule 4.5 : in year 1942 only P47 fighters are available. But in 1943 you have to refer to table 4.5 to determine which type of aircraft you will benefit for escort. Mission card only gives you number escort fighters, not the model.
Escort fighters range is the maximum distance from base they can stay calling with bombers. No need to keep range for retourne to base. But of course if your target is near you may benefit from escort even on back trip.
Rules 9.1.6.1 and 9.1.6.2 are refering to wingmen, that is to say if you are able to dispatch more escort fighters than interceptor.
Only 2 rounds of fighter vs fighter take place. After that survival of interceptor will attack bombers but relaining wingmen will not assist bombers.

Hi, I have to apologize for some "typo", but as I am french, my system automatically try to switch to known (to it...) french words. I correct some of these untimely "mistakes" but some manage to go through the "flak curtain" !
