FTRE will change your idea of how military units operate because the game focus' on leadership. Not just the run around the map cheerleaders that most games have but leaders that affect every level of the game. From the number of orders/impulses you have per turn to the normal impact on firepower and movement.

As you can see, I have threatened the US leadership from the very beginning. Snipers have played a key factor in all modern warfare. The more accurate the weaponry the more of an impact they've had. Snipers are tough to knock out of action too. They have a high morale and extreme dedication.

So, putting a sniper in position to immediately threaten US leaders will give the Russian player some breathing space. Which could offset some of the tactical advantages the US has.

Good Hunting.

He can activate anyone stacked with him or within a 1 hex range of the hex he's in. He cannot activate another leader but can activate anyone else within his Command Radius.

These are the units stacked with Gonzales.

Gonzales moves first. He activates using an Advance Order. He leaves the medic behind as he moves from F5 to F4.

The medic then uses an Advance Order to move from F5 to E4. It is important that as many units as possible have LOS to the medic. He will raise their morale by +1 if he is in within LOS.

Gonzales could give an order to any non-leader unit in E5 as well; since they are within his Command Radius but he chooses to leave them stacked with Lynch.

After the US order their new deployment looks like this.
