Below are the posts that I created on CSW regarding Norm Smith's awesome Campaign for the Heroes of the Motherland. Will post when I finally finish the last scenario.

Norm,

Your Campaign for Heroes of the Motherland is awesome! Finished the second scenario last week, and having a blast.

The Germans had slow progress in scenario 1, but were able to manage getting all but 1 MMC across the river by the end of Turn 4. Beginning of Turn 5, the lone MMC on the wrong side of the river disassembles his MG42 to make his advance across the river for victory. The first combat on Turn 5 activates the Random Events table. The Russians get Partisans and are able to,place them adjacent to the Lone MMC with disassembled MG42. The Partisans use the very next activation to enter into a melee with the lone MMC and eliminate him to end the scenario.

The Germans had a better time in the second scenario to pick up 2 Campaign Points.

Great job, and thanks.

Was finally able to get back to the Heroes of the Motherland Campaign today.

Played The Drive North it seems like ages ago. The Germans didn't start off well. They advanced aggressively to try and close with the defenders, and in the process had both Pz III J's knocked out in the first turn. They were able to recover and batter the Soviet defenders in the middle turns, then the run for the board edge. The Germans were able to get the fourth unit off the north board edge on the last impulse of Turn 6, for the win and 1 Campaign Point. This brings them to a total of 3 Campaign Points.

Played Counterattack at Verkhne-Kumsky today. The Soviets went in aggressively and took some lumps, but made some great progress. The Germans only controlled two building hexes by the time their reinforcements arrived. The last two turns had both sides struggling to maintain and/or gain control of the buildings on the northern portion of the board. The Germans were able to gain control of a third building hex on Turn 5, but lost it again at the beginning of Turn 6. The Germans just didn't have enough infantry left to pull out a victory, and it turned into a Soviet Victory with the Germans only controlling two buildings hexes at the end of Turn 6. The Germans need a victory in the last scenario to squeeze out a win for the Campaign.

Overall, this Campaign has been outstanding and highly recommended. All of the scenarios have been fun, and could have gone either way. Great job Norm. Now to find the time to finish the last scenario.

Was able to get the last scenario (Crossing Myshkova) in today. The Germans were very aggressive, and got some good rolls early, and were able to pull off the win on Turn 5 to get 3 CPs, and a slim victory for the Campaign. The Campaign was very enjoyable, well designed and thought out, and fun. Thanks for all your hard work Norm.
