How long is the intel delay, including friendly/enemy force composition, position, etc.? For example, when a front line unit spots and reports the enemy spotted up the chain of command, how long does it take till the player HQ receives the intel? And is the delay the same for all aspects of enemy units, e.g. suppose it takes 30 mins to report a newly spotted enemy tank company, is it also 30 mins to report that 3 tanks from that company have been destroyed?

This feature has unique importance because it can affect player control of ARTY units - if frontline reports of enemy positions by regular units take 30 mins to get to the head HQ, whereas it takes 15 mins to the regiment HQ, then ARTY fire by player control may not be much more effective than by regimental AI.

For feature implementation, I recommend 1) creating an 'equipment' of ARTY spotters and assign it to units (or possibly a platoon) 2) give units different intel reporting delays, e.g. a battalion HQ takes shorter time than infantry company, etc.

Intel is explained on Pg. 166-168 of the game manual.

Basically the quality of the intel is dependent on the type of visibility a friendly unit has to the enemy, the amount of time the friendly unit has to make an assessment, and the time since the last observation of the enemy unit.

You can adjust the map display of intel of the enemy units by setting the Intel Filter (Pg. 45 of the game manual) to whatever your desire is -- NONE (needs no explanation); CURRENT (sightings within the last five minutes of game play); RECENT (sightings within the past hour); and ALL (any sighting that has occurred during game play).
