When you are on the Upper Level of a building, can you move to any adjacent hex with an Upper Level or would we be restricted by the actual building depiction if the floors aren't connected at the hexside?

Example: on the big Red Star map, there's that multi-hex building in Niederjossa with a courtyard. Clearly you shouldn't be able to just leap across a courtyard if you're upstairs, but is there anything in the rules that prohibits moving to an adjacent Upper Level hex? We allowed it in one case because a portion of the hallway could theoretically be traced along one of the hexes, but there are out pairs where clearly it's a leap across.

Looking for something in the rules to verify one way or another. Thanks.

Not sure there's a rule for this but since it seems reasonable that you would need a contiguous building graphic on the upper level to be moving within the same building that you should not be able to move across the courtyard gap on the upper level.
That's the way I/we have always played it in the past.

This is the Offical, Un-Official Ruling.

You would need a contiguous building graphic on the upper level to be moving within the same building. You can not move across the courtyard gap on the upper level.

Remember what the Official rules say "If the rules don't say you can do something you can't.
