Hi all,

I've been off sick these last two weeks. A very bad cold laid me low. I've managed only a couple of hours a day this last week. But I have tracked down and solved most of the causes of the referenced corps issue. But my latest auto test still has two occurences of this bug out of nine recordings from the autotest. I will persevere further.

Can't wait to jump on this.

SITREP Fri 1 Sep 23.

Hi all,

I've had a productive week. I've clobbered all cases of the referenced corpse (well for now anyway). I've been working my way through other recordings. I'm currently tweaking code to handle cases where all the forces assigned to a sub attacks start nearby to its reserveLoc or FUP. We don't want them going back to the boss's reserveLoc and then marching forward again.

Each subAttack gets an assigned route from the boss's reserveLoc to the assigned sub attacvk objective. I need to find the loc on this route that is closest to the subAttack Subject, create a join route between this and the Subject's loc and then concatenate the routes. THat way we'll fix this issue. I hope to sort this out on Monday. I'll then move on to deal with the few remaining recordings. So, making progress.

Hi, Arjuna: I know you're always busy with your contractual responsibilities. Has there been any additional progress since your last post and, if so, what's the game's status?

MadMerse,

Your timing is impeccable. I have just checked in all my changes and created a new dev build. I still have one significant issue with the attack code, namely an infinite recursion in the plan development code. I plan to use the new dev build as a testbed to fix this issue. I want to be able to make changes and roll back if they don't work. This is a recurring issue that fires if changes I make in one aspect of the plan development code result in the AI determining that it can neither move nor defend. I have my suspects, but it will involve a bit of trial an error to sort this.

Peter,

No, it's a dev build for me to test some alternative approaches to fixing this issue. But things are close now. As soon as I fix this issue and then get it to run for a while, even if there is some odd asserts, I will release a beta build. I hope to get this out in the next two or three weeks.
