Hi Ken,
Thanks for the interest. When All Things Zombie won an Origins Award back in '06 one of the major contributors was the mechanics for interacting with non-player humans. That aspect disappeared in the board game and is a major element of the upcoming game. Zombie games aren't about killing zombies, the good ones are about how the humans interact with each other as they try to survive and thrive in the zombie world.
All Things Zombie - Reloaded will bring this back. Using the new Event Cards NPCs can be generated as well as zombies. There are three types - Gangers, Survivors, and Militia - each behaving differently than the other. In the previous version they were automatically enemies. Now they could be friendly, neutral or enemies. It is possible to barter for items and even have them join your group and all controlled by the game mechanics.
Buildings, both the new and exiting ones, are being handled differently. There's a variety from a picked clean house to a high security complex. Some are easy to enter, some will cause you to stop and try and force your way in where failure generates zeds.
There's more changes and additions as well, especially a real campaign system with reasons to play from game to game. Time is tracked in monthly turns where you can choose 1 Encounter (think adventure) but there's a chance that the NPCs will choose to have 1 on you. More later.
