Laying smoke

I just received both demos (WW2 and Modern) and I have a question. Both rule books state smoke laying capabilities are in the module specific rules but I see no mention of them in the scenarios. Any help is appreciated.

Both sides have a Smoke laying number of 2. So a roll of 2 or less will be successful.

Crap, I need to learn how to read. I thought you just had the WWII Demo.

WWII Demo

Americans = 2 and Germans = 2

Modern Demo

Americans = 3 and VC = 1
