This covers the Corridor area of the Prokhorovka battle on 12 July 1943. This is balanced for Axis v AI play ONLY. A one day scenario, but an intense day!
You command all of SS Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler, part of SS Totenkopf and SS Das Reich. A small Corps - around 19,000 combat troops, mixed infantry and armour. The Soviets have an estimated 34,000 men ranged against you, with a great deal of armour, but their quality is inferior.
I traced the map from a soviet-era map and it's very accurate. It's11km by 15km and allows for more tactical options than the very small map in my Central Corridor scenario. I have improved the map quite a bit as it's developed. It now features things like AT ditches and mines, heavily fortified areas etc - all based on features I have come across and been able to pinpoint in reading about this battle. (The mine/AT ditches can't kill but they halt infantry and tank movement to a crawl and are effective to stop the rush of soviet armour just as they were in reality.) I have also worked on the effects layers to make LOS obstructions work properly to make the landscape a significant factor, especially the lines of blocking trees and bushes that feature in the area still. Balancing it to get the AI to follow the soviet attack plan has been hard, but I think it works well now.
Download instructions as per my other 'resource' - the Central Corridor scenario.
