For a couple of weeks now I have been unable to access lnlpublishing.com.
I get ERROR(403): Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forums/command-ops-series.28/ on this server.

I get this error either going through wired broadband to my house or WiFi 4G using my cell phone's as a hotspot.

My provider for both services is Taiwan's CHT. The National telecom provider and the biggest provider of cell service.

How am I posting this? I have connected via VPN that makes it look like I am accessing the site from NYC.

---

Whose problem is this?

Who can investigate this?

THANKS!

I just ran into this today as well - however it was wi-fi on a plane.

A trace route (not VPN), but I don't know if this tells us anything:

D:\User\MK\Tmp>tracert lnlpublishing.com

over a maximum of 30 hops:

Not sure why I am encountering this. I tried all browsers, different mobile phones etc. I suspect it has got to do with the server blocking addresses originating from certain asian ISPs. I am from Singapore. Anyhow, the only way I manage to get access is via a free web proxy like kproxy. But I would not want to do $ transaction over the web proxy. Any idea? Can LnL system admin check with your web host?

It used to work. I had this problem with Battlefront for while when their ISP labeled my ISP as SPAM source. Because, of course, if you are in Greater China, you are living in the World of malware production. WWIII (PRC v USA) has started early among ISPs and game producers. :)

I think the only solution is PROXY or VPN. Sadly VPN works, but is a lot slower than my optic fiber ISP.

For me, what is most discouraging is it keeps from participating much as a community member & team member.

哈哈!

That's "ha ha" in Chinese. No, I was just being polite and welcoming. My spoken Cantonese and Mandarin is far better than my reading/writing as it takes so much work to learn characters compared to languages with alphabets. (Also, the utility value of conversation far exceeds that of being literate.)

In previous forums for Panther at Matrix, I was the sponsor for the French language support thread (I can read, but cannot write). However, we did have some French and French Canadian customers (some also fluent in English). France still has print strategy gaming magazines; although died off in the USA a long time ago. The series had received very high marks in the two preeminent journals PC4WAR and CyberStrategie.

I suppose this engine is destined to require a good command of English, since as far as I know the engine was not designed (back in the day) with localization in mind.

David (Heath),

I am once again able to access your domain without resorting to VPN locality displacement.

Thank you!

Hi Guys,

Ok network people are always worried about security and they seem to have over done it a bit. So if you were having a hard time reaching the site you should be ok now.

David
