Rick,
The game is not so granular as to matter whether flak gets the first shot at a formation or enemy interceptors get the first crack. The point is that they can both get their kicks in (if interceptors are rolled for).
I have wondered the same thing about your other point and reached a...
Rick, I am not sure where you are referencing the “undamaged” portion of the rule but I believe 5.4 and 10.4 make it clear that planes only leave the formation if they are damaged.
I hope this helps.

Are the victory conditions determined after the specified number of missions for the selected campaign have been flown?
The statement in 1.2, second para, about the object of the game “is to complete the number of Missions . . .” takes on a different meaning when coupled with 11.5, first para...
Using rules Version 2.2, when your bomber formation enters the target space:
1. Is it subject to Flak Site Attack (5.7) in addition to the target Approach Flak Attack (11.1)?
2. If the answer is yes, is the formation subject to Flak Site Attack on its egress out of the space too?
3. Prior to...
Just FYI, I allowed simultaneous attacks against three bombers in the first round of combat with Interceptors and ended up with the following results:
1. Bomber heavily damaged and drops out; FW-190 damaged.
2. Bomber heavily damaged and continues; FW-190 damaged.
3. Bomber lightly...
1. If a Bomber receives a result of Light Damage then Continue, if the same Bomber receives a second Light Damage result during the same raid, do you roll on the 1st Roll table or the 2nd Roll table?
2. 9.1.10 is specific about how to conduct a second round of Fighter vs Fighter combat. I...
Fair enough though I'm not sure it adds any steps to the process. The player will have to remember the results of the first combat and apply it after the second combat ends.
Common sense as much as anything. There will always be a lead element. And there will always be a tail element (the element that has less surrounding support than the middle elements).
Another question (Isn't there always another question?) regarding a Bomber vs Interceptor DR Modifier:
Air Combat Modifier Table 9.5 state, "+1 per ADDITIONAL (my emphasis) Bomber in Element." This is supported by the bullet point in rule 9.2.5.
However, the Bomber vs Interceptor combat...
If your raid only has three elements, for Bomber vs Interceptor air combat, is the low element considered the Tail Element for Defensive Die Roll Modifier purposes?
If this has already been answered elsewhere, forgive me please. I could not find it in the forum.
Rule 9.1.7.1 makes it clear that during Escort vs Interceptor air combat, if the attacker destroys the defender, the defender will not get to fire on the attacker.
Does the same hold true in...
Tony,
No worries. Section 2.3 states that the green color coded boxes "represent England and Escort Rendezvous Sites." This helped cause some confusion.
Curtis
I'm a little confused about bomber escorts.
1. "5.6-Only ONE Escort is permitted during a Mission." I assume this is supposed to read that only one escort at a time is allowed during a mission? I ask because the preceding sentence indicates a choice must be made to keep the current escort...
So I can do all this in a single turn if I am the US Player:
1. Move flying transport helicopter to landing zone;
2. Change helicopter mode to hovering;
3. Unload any troops from the helicopter.
The troops are unable to move on the turn they are unloaded.
Is this correct?
Is there a way to double check to make sure I confirmed my pre-order? This is my first pre-order with L-n-L and I am not sure if I followed the procedure correctly.
Thanks!
When moving into a hex containing a dry creek bed, is the 2 point movement cost assessed only if the unit crosses the creek bed.
Here's the dilemma: a NVA regt heavy weapons unit (2 movement points) is in hex E10 (light jungle) and wants to move to hex E9 (light jungle/dry creek bed). Light...
