Ambush Skill & Close Assault (WW2)

The text says: 'Utilize this skill when a unit occupies an enemy hex or is adjacent to an enemy-occupied hex'.

Does this pertain only to enemies adjacent to the Leader or Hero's hex with the skill, or any enemy that becomes adjacent to any of your units?

Also, if the units placed 'in or adjacent to the user's hex' happens to be a vehicle, are they assumed to have completed the morale check to complete Close Assault?

2) Good question !. The problem is with being placed in the same hex as the vehicle. Really can"t tell...

1) Adjacent to the Skill-possessor. This is NOT an Opportunity-type Skill, played during an enemy impulse.

2) Yes, if placed in an enemy-vehicle hex (and all other requirements are met, e.g., no GO enemy MMCs, etc. in hex) it is assumed they are free to conduct a Close Assault w/o performing a Morale Check as they are already in the hex, not attempting to enter it for the CA.

Oh so this can't be used defensively, as the enemy is closing on you to Melee for example ?

It cannot. It's not an Opportunity Skill.

And what MG do you get? Previous edition were mentionning a LMG but this distinction is gone. Could the German get a MG42 for example?Does it comes assembled or on it's tripod side?

It's "Machine-gun Support Weapon".And "randomly selected" means just that. So the Germans have two types, so you randomly determine which one, MG34 or MG42; roll a die, flip a coin, whatever. Tripod for a MG42 would be up to the player. For the Brits, it's Bren or Vickers. For the US, it's BAR or M1919A4. Obviously you'd want the Vickers or M1919A4 not to be Dismantled.
