Assault move/assault fire vs Hit & run

Am I correct that difference between H&R and AM/AF is that H&R is a more "continuous" action in which the unit may not stop and hold fire for a later impulse.
So that the difference between AM, AF, and H&R is the timing of the fire relative to the move?

Kind of...the H&R unit can move, fire and move. So it could start from behind a building, move, fire and go right back behind the building
