In the 4.1 rules in section 10.1 there is a reference to the "silhouette of degrading terrain that is par of an otherwise open hex." There are other references to "silhouettes."

Can someone explain what a silhouette of terrain is? Perhaps share an image of it or point me to a hex reference on a map . . . this isn't clicking for me.

I understand "shadow" I think but not "silhouette."

I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I am pretty sure the silhouette refers to the actual physical drawing of the terrain feature.I think the rule your citing refers to any terrain feature that drawing occurs in another hex other than the one from whence it originated, i.e. a branch overhang from a tree trunk in another hex

Thanks. I'll have to see an example of that on an actual map. That is some pretty precise LOS measuring. Going to my X-Maps now.

Just went through the HoN maps. Damned if I can find an example of a terrain silhouette crossing into another hex. Anyone have an on-map example?

First one is from Heroes of the Blitzkrieg (To be rereleased In Heroes in Defiance), and shows the wheat field extended out of Hex K7 into Hex J7.

Second one is from Heroes of the Falklands, and shows the Brush in G2/G3/H3/I2/I3 extending into the adjacent hexes.
