Reinforcements desert heat scn 1

I'm finally getting to sit down and play. I have a question, for the reinforcements in scn 1 and (so on) Does the formation marker get place in the cup at the start or only starting on turn 2?

I made the assumption that the formation marker does not go in till turn 2...

Yes, the formation markers for the reinforcements do not go into the cup until the turn that they arrive. So if they arrive on Turn 2, you would not place the formation marker until Turn 2.

He did, I finished it with a Italian win, but it was a nail biter all the way to the last turn.
