Are the victory conditions determined after the specified number of missions for the selected campaign have been flown?

The statement in 1.2, second para, about the object of the game “is to complete the number of Missions . . .” takes on a different meaning when coupled with 11.5, first para, which advises the player to place Heavy Damage Mission Cards in the Completed Missions box on the Mission Map. In other words, a mission is completed only when the target card is placed in the Completed Missions box.

This would mean that x number of SUCCESSFUL missions would have to be flown for a campaign to end.

Thanks!

The campaign is completed when you finish the indicated number of missions, "successful" or not. The number of accumulated points determines your level of success. I think the "completed mission" box is used only when you completely destroy a target. If the target is only lightly damaged you remove the blue mission card and replace it with the red card but put that card back in to the mission deck and reshuffle.

Hello, my understanding of game rules are the same as IronMarshall. For each mission attempted, successfully or not, you move the turn marker one step on the campaign progress scale. Then after a determined number of turns the campaign ends, and you look at your victory points to assess your campaign achievement level.
