AEO spotting in the solo module

I am currently playing a game in which the Fire Action flowchart calls for the AEO to spot the PU then fire.

What happens if the spotting attempt fails? I know the unit attempting the spotting attempt is marked OPS Complete - but what then? Do I continue on down the card to the next order, and so on?

I would continue on down the orders list, because as a player I'd probably try to do something else if I failed a spot check.

Since only one spotting attempt can be made during an impulse you would progress down the card or laterally to the next order such as a Fire -> Move.. Spotting does not end an impulse or failure to spot.
