Are multiple combats possible in Melee?

Say I move three friendly squads into a hex that contains two enemy squads. Can I assign two squads to attack one enemy squad and the other friendly squad against the other enemy squad so that I shall roll twice on the Close combat table OR am I forced to only making one combat (which means I only roll once on the Close combat table) using either all my three squads aginst both enemy squads or all my three squads against only one enemy squad?
