View attachment 6759

For over 15 years the Lock 'n Load Tactical (LnLT) system has set a new standard in Squad-level gaming. Its innovative gameplay mechanics, unparalleled artwork, historical scope, and accessibility have entertained veteran and new gamers alike. I'm perplexed at the cost of the printed version of 5.0. The content is free, and I can't believe that it costs $50.00 just to print and mail the book. I'd love to buy a copy; but only at a reasonable price.

Hi Larry,

It does not cost $50.00 to make and we do need to make a few dollars, We are using better materials and we do each manual by hand at the office so this is not a mass-produced product. Also, you can download the free PDF edition and have it printed anywhere. Just as a warning Staples is over $100.00, so we do feel it is a reasonable price for a 275+ page full-color booklet.

Thanks for the reply. I did not realize, or expect, that the printing cost would be so high. I just checked with Office Depot and it's $88 there also.

Most office supply stores will charge and arm and a leg for full color printing and even just a black and white printing can get pretty high.

Are the first and last pages of the printed version printed on regular paper or something sturdier like cardboard or vinyl?

Hi Henry,

It does take a while to do. If you print them out yourself normally the binding is only a few dollars. We do use a cardstock on the front and back covers. If you do take it to a print shop that can laminate or give you a nice hard cover to protect the booklet.

Thanks. I'll probably bite the bullet and buy the printed version.

Hi David,

Which are the differences between the original Core Rules v.5.0, and the Rev2 that you uploaded later? Can you tell us which pages have received fixes or changes?

Thanks in advance!

Rev2 Update: We added the helicopter results to the combat tables. They are included in games that have helicopters. We also updated one icon on the Ordnance vs Armor [14.1] Reference table. Please Note: These updates are also included in our support materials.

Hi David,

Would it be possible, on the resource pages, to list all changes between versions from now on? That would allow me (us) to only re-print the bits that have been modified. And with such a complete ruleset, there would be no need to reprint the whole 200+ pages (which by the way is excellent!)

Thanks in advance
Terry

David Heath updated Lock 'n Load Tactical Core Rules PDF Edition with a new update entry:

Lock 'n Load Tactical Core Rules Edition

We posted Rev73 of the LnLT Core Rules for the Handbook Edition and larger Core Rules that we are now calling the Officer Edition. Both editions are available in our Online Library at http://library.lnlpublishing.com

The changes are mostly typos, clarifications, and some corrections. There are actually only two small rule adjustments.

1) Buttoned vehicles now get a penalty of +1 on the OFT table instead of open vehicles getting a -1. This should please those of you who rightfully pointed out that ATG WT with the same gun as a tank were not getting any advantage over a buttoned vehicle. See 15.0

2) You can now assemble/dismantle tripod MG in the operation phase. This corrects an oddity where, for example, a MG42 WT, with a crew of 2-3 men, could move around in the operation phase while a tripod MG42 SW, with a full squad to carry it, could not. See 1.6.1.
