Spotting Questions

Hi everyone.

I have separate questions not related to each other, hypothetical ones.

All units are in buildings.

1. In the image below. The British Stack starts an impulse unspotted. The Brit spots the German stack to the far left and fires on it. No effect. Did the Brit stack become spotted by the Germans 2 hexes away (degrading terrain)?

2. Another hypothetical. The 2 opposing stacks just 2 hexes saparating them have not spotted each other yet. Would you have a 2 or less die roll to spot? Or would it be 2 or less PLUS one for degrading terrain to spot either stacks?

1. Yes. Fired marked hexes are spotted. Spotting is a hex status so it is for all the units on the map (...in LOS!)

2. You have to roll 2 or less for the blocking terrain the target is in AND you have a +1 dr modifier for the degrading hex LOS passes through.
