Melee Question

Playing the new Vietnam digital release (can't think of the name) and had a Melee left over from the previous turn that had been reinforced and thus contained both USA and VC units. It was attacked by a USA plane. All units (USA and VC) sustained damage.

My question: can a plane attack a Melee hex? Nothing in the rules either way that I could find.

Going to report the situation to Tom but thought I would come here to ask.

No, nothing can attack a melee hex. That's a bug.

That is what I thought but was not sure. Reported it to Tom.

And I made a note to add it in the next version of the rules, because it is specifically prohibited for direct fire and indirect fire but not for airplanes/chopper. No damage from friendly fire in LNLT!
