Hello
suddenly I'm confused with the rules
1.3 stacking says :
These stacking limitations apply at ALL TIMES—unless otherwise stated in a scenario’s special rules (SSRs)."
but
8.0 melee combat says in example 1 :
"...More specifically, two US Airborne 2-5-4 Squads equal 4 FP factors in Melee combat and two German 1-6-4 squads...".
There is more than 3 squads in the hex and the stacking limit is not respected in this case ?

I thought in melee we could not have more than 3 squads and 2SMC and I always played like this.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Fulgar, we’ve always played the stacking limit is per side so double the total could in theory be in the same hex for a melee...I don’t think that is specifically denoted in the Rules text but it is implied by the example that stacking can be exceeded.
Cheers!

Yes, the stacking limit is per side. From 5.0 Rules:

1.3 Stacking
In a hex, each side can have up to:
• Three Squads (or their equivalent)
• Two vehicles
• Two SMCs

Thanks a lot for this clarification Ralph
the answer was in the first phrase of the paragraph 1.3
In a hex, each side can have up to: 3 squad, 2 SMCs and 2 vehicles.
Just a little word which makes a huge difference. I should have read this paragraph more carefully
