I was testing out probe attacks with single battalions in various scenarios and ran into a problem. On page 92 of the 1.1 manual it states that a unit will
"Unlike in an attack, where the force will repeatedly Assault until either they achieve the objective or receive a new order, a probing force may decide to Bunker Down if things get too threatening. The force will retreat a short distance and defend until its next reassessment. If your probe force decides to bunker down, you will receive a message to that effect.
As a result Probes can be quite useful for creating diversions"
I have found that this behavior nor the message that indicates the unit is canceling its probe due to it being "Too Risky" ever happens. What does happen is the unit continues to attack until it destroys itself, this is with losses and aggro set the minimum setting.
Does anyone else experience this?
