Sad returning fan

Hey Guys,

well I really enjoy playing LnL Tactical. I return to it after an alomst 10 year break of alomst only playing ASL... bought Compendium vol.1 played some scenarios using old Band of Heroes components etc... I had a blast.
Decide to jump in again and ordered Compendium vol. 3, Heroes of Normandy and Motherland... today I got 2 packages - one with Compendium 3 and another with both core modules....
Suprise number one- heroes of normandy lid box is totally missprinted- not centered. I think its a no go... maybe its me- but i think for a 90 EURO around 100 USD game- this is absolutly no go...

Then Compendium 3...got it from UK... couldnt find another shop here in germany who wasnt out of stock... well...the cover and the maps are OK....BUT the content of the book- ALL PAGES ARE compendium vol 1...side by side... what a hell of a day... i even cant get a new one- since this misprint was the last one in stock...

I am waiting for another package from france with the new 5.0 Rulebook... I paid 70 Euro inclusive postage....I hope i dont have trouble again.

I hope Lock n Loads quallity isnt like this all the time now.

Anyways...great game.

You should definitely open a support ticket. Sometimes takes a little while for a reply, but they are good at fixing problems.

First I am very sorry this has happened. You would think looking at the box no one would have shipped that. I have never seen a box like that before.

Open a support ticket and post the pictures and let us know who and where you got each item and we get it fixed.

I got a message from both shops after writing them- I get a new Normandy box !! Wooohooo!!

And UK shop wants to write to Lock n Load Pbulishing and try to fix the problem about the Compendium Vol. 3

Today I got 5.0 Rulebook from France- excellent condition!

So all seems to turn nice now.
It was just yesterday in the momentum of frustration... where i thought...this cant be true.

Heroes of Motherland looks soooo great- the thicker counters are definitive ACE!!!
Have to play one or two scenarios this weekend.

Its so refreshing to play many scenarios in short time ( did 8 in the last two weeks) compared to ASL where a scenarion even with VASSAL + Skype can take forever :-(

Btw. any players from germany here? Would be great to get in touch for some matches and BIERs ;-D

Its me again...

Slowly I believe that I'am the magnet of Lock n Load's misprint products.... ARRRRRGH!

Setup first Motherland scenario with X MAPS which I also bought seperatly....
For whatever reason they dont have this pre falted line in the middle... means to lay them flat you have to hurt them (haha)... even under plastic glas they look mega used now... I will attach some pictures....

Next week I will be at SPIEL in Essen... its like your GEN CON in the US.... cant await to get my fingers on more LnL misprints. Haha!!
No seriously...this is really a turn off for me.

I've ordered many sets of X-Maps and they're all like that. They don't have a pre-formed crease in the middle like an ASL board, or an ATS map panel. I just try to backbend them as gently as possible and hope for the best. Gentle is key.

Of course they do- check out my Normandy X maps for example or Compendium Vol. 1 maps.

Edit: technical they are nothing else than a reference sheet from one of your boxes which are also pre formed.... just instead of a reference sheet...a map.

If you're talking about a "fold", then yes, I know what you mean. The maps have been bent and folded like could be done to any flat piece of stock. What I wish the X-Maps had was a very definite middle crease, a ripple that has been intentionally pressed into the cardstock, that allows obvious folding, unfolding and back-bending. If you've ever seen an ASL cardstock mapboard, you'll know what I mean. Check the attached photo if it helps.

I've got X-Maps for Normandy, Defiance, Motherland, Pacific, and Nam and NONE of them had anything like what I'm referring to. Maybe there's some manufacturing inconsistency?

Many gamers don't like the folds and use Plexiglass to play their games on. I have not put a crease on the X-Maps for a long time. There are some exceptions if they are too large.

I know ASL maps very well- I even know that you are playing Retaking Vierville scenario on that picture

Here is a picture from the backsides of one of my Normandy X maps compared to an ASL and Motherland one... down Normandy middle ASL and top Motherland.

@ David,
I am using plexiglas- fact is you CANT play without it on the "new" X maps style- they look like a skateboard park without plexiglas.
Wish you could produce them again with this middle pre fold.
I attach another photo of Motherland under pexiglas in "zoom in" mode to see what happens to the while playing.

I would play the hell out of Defiance as it is one of the best modules.

I am not sad at all anymore...it was just the first moment- when I thought- this cant be true.

Maybe after that I will try some other box- but this little Verkhne Kumsky campaign from Motherland box is also smiling at me.

I also like the Pacific box- played 5 scenarios of it. Japanese step reduction and Banzai is MEGA!
Saw at the convention that the newer Pacific Box is THICKER...mine is first printing and thinner. Are there a lot of differnces between first and 2nd print? I noticed that my pacific counters are alot thinner than those from the newer boxes.
