Snakes in the Garden question on USN pilot

Playing this scenario solo and have a question on USN pilot.

How is it possible to get him to the extraction point??? Am reading the rule that if stacked with other US units,tha sack can only move as fast as the pilot (3 MF) even if using DT.

It seems like the pilot will not reach extraction point before scenario ends on turn 6.

Or am I missing something here???

Any help appreciated on this.

Mark,

Looking at the second bullet under the Special Scenario Rules, second to the last sentence. I'm not sure, but if the pilot can use double-time movement with a Leader, it could move 5 hexes.
